María Matarranz de las Heras si è diplomata nel 2013 presso la Escuela Profesional de Danza de Castilla y León. La sua prima opportunità di lavoro l'ha portata in Portogallo per una stagione, dove ha danzato le creazioni di Ken Ossola e Jose Luis Vieira. In seguito, Maria ha danzato in Svizzera, nei Paesi Bassi e a Madrid come freelance mentre stava ottenendo il suo Bachelor in Interpretazione della Danza.
Nel 2017 è entrata a far parte del Landestheater Detmold in Germania, lavorando come solista per due stagioni. Nell'arco di 5 stagioni, ha avuto incredibili opportunità di sviluppare ulteriormente le sue capacità artistiche lavorando con coreografi come Masa Kolar, Andonis Foniadakis, Nadav Zelner, Jeroen Verbruggen e Douglas Lee, tra gli altri.
Oltre all'aspetto performativo del suo sviluppo professionale, Maria ha tenuto seminari in tutta Europa, concentrandosi sul balletto classico, sul lavoro con le scarpe da punta e sulla danza contemporanea. Attualmente sta conseguendo una laurea in psicologia, dove sta esplorando l'intersezione tra psicologia e danza.
Nell'ottobre 2023, Maria è stata insignita del premio "Miglior spettacolo dell'anno" dall'Associazione teatrale nazionale croata, per la sua interpretazione mozzafiato ed eccezionale come Giulietta, in Romeo e Giulietta di Jiri Bubenicek.

María Matarranz de las Heras graduated from the Escuela Profesional de Danza de Castilla y León in 2013. Her first work opportunity took her to Portugal for a season, where she danced works by Ken Ossola and Jose Luis Vieira.
Maria subsequently danced freelance in Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Madrid while earning her Bachelor's degree in Dance Interpretation.
In 2017, she joined the Landestheater Detmold in Germany, working as a soloist for two seasons. In 2019, Maria began dancing for the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka, where she still performs today as a principal dancer. Over the course of five seasons, she has had incredible opportunities to further develop her artistic skills, working with choreographers such as Masa Kolar, Andonis Foniadakis, Nadav Zelner, Jeroen Verbruggen, and Douglas Lee, among others.
In addition to the performing aspect of her professional development, Maria has taught workshops throughout Europe, focusing on classical ballet, pointe work, and contemporary dance. She is currently pursuing a degree in psychology, where she is exploring the intersection of psychology and dance.
In October 2023, Maria was awarded the "Best Performance of the Year" prize by the Croatian National Theatre Association for her breathtaking and exceptional performance as Juliet in Jiri Bubenicek's Romeo and Juliet.
